Team fabricates hydrogel-based neural probes

An interdisciplinary team lead by the Bettinger Group at CMU is advancing their work on hydrogel-based neural probes. These ultraflexible devices could have diverse applications in neural recording and stimulation. The key advantage to this class of materials is that they can interface with tissue without damaging the underlying sub-structures.

Matyjaszewski, Bockstaller, and Bettinger publish on collaborative project

The research groups of Kris Matyjaszewski, Michael Bockstaller, and the Bettinger Group publish two articles on the use of tailored synthesis of star block copolymers (Matyjaszewski & Bettinger) and polymer structures to control the formation of nanoparticle geometries (Bockstaller, Matyjaszewski, and Bettinger). These manuscripts are published in the journals Macromolecules and Polymer, respectively.
